Drawn to the familiar everyday events that
reveal life, I feel that sometimes the simple can subtly expose
the complex. Benny was a Jack-of-all-trades; farmer, carpenter,
gospel singer, cane molasses maker, and back yard rocker.
His face reveals nothing and everything, a man chocked full
of love and hate, plenty and want, desire and despair. It
was through this man that I experienced cotton farming, worn
down pickup trucks, and fire place pontificating.
