I have developed, or maybe just discovered, a satisfaction with building color tone and value using pastel pigment on sandpaper card. Though consistent with my drawing style, the color pigments and layered building of form take these works someplace between graphite drawing and molding the figure in clay. It feels like the two dimension transitioning into three. This man, though crippled from birth, is unwavering in his determination to lead a productive life and works every day. The will of the human spirit goes deep.
