MAN WITH FLAIR

After spending a week with the sculptor,
Richard MacDonald, I learned a lot about myself and what it
takes to make fine art. MacDonald created the monumental bronze,
THE FLAIR, in Atlanta, and has done other great public works.
It seems to me that the best art begins somewhere way back
in the artists experience and life, and strangely emerges
from a place of deep humility to a place of confident expression.
If you will, it has a sense of flair about it, and it didnt
take too long to see that Richard MacDonald certainly has
that. Successes and failures happen in the studio of every
artist and prompt the question, if we dont revisit that
place of humility, will the inspiration dry up?
